Bezel Setting in Metal Clay
2 day workshop
January Saturday 22 & Sunday 23
2 DAY CLASS
10 am - 1 pm each day
This class will focus on a pendant with a natural stone set on metal clay. The emphasis will be on bezel making, creating a metal clay backplate, using overlay paste to fuse bezel wire.
10 grams of art clay silver
6mm natural stone(you’ll have a couple color options)
Fine silver bezel wire
Use of tools, torches, kiln, textures, etc
6 hours in person instruction
The focus will be on stone setting not on individual projects- you will learn how to set a bezel.
No personal stones please- this is a basic stone setting in metal clay class. To do this technique at home you will need a kiln or live locally so I can fire projects for you. This technique can’t be done with torch firing only.
Please call for questions.
Previous metal clay experience is helpful but not required.
The Class will be held at my home studio please contact me for details & latest information about masks and other Covid safety practices.
Classroom set up in Silverton Oregon
Class Cancellation policy- If you sign up for a class and register online you may cancel for full refund 7 days prior to class. If you cancel after that for any reason there will be no refund for the class. Please know that I attempt to be flexible but the planning and purchasing of supplies is expensive. Things happen and life can be a big mystery. Unfortunately, it is too hard to run a small shoestring business without a policy. This policy is consistent with the industry standards.
After several years of "playing" with Metal Clay and taking several classes myself, I took the dive and received my Level 1 certification from Art Clay World. I love bringing this art/craft to people who would otherwise think metal work is too scary. If you can handle a roller, cookie cutter & texture plates/molds you can create a lovely piece of jewelry that you can treasure. I have a couple of quick videos on youtube, in addition to the one above, you can access here for more information: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2vgdfYGZL5nkOR8AowqOiQ
