Trust and Grace Mala with tabletop Display
This hand sculpted male is a wearable work of art with an integrated tabletop stand for display. Created with Time as the central aspect you can see the movement on the circular piece from infancy to old age. Circling the sun you can see the moon in the lower aspect of the piece as a grounding to the tides. The back of this pieces has the 4 elements in design- Earth, Air, Water and Fire each had sculpted for this piece to remind us of the impact of these elements in our lives. The thread and weaving are to symbolize destiny and the thread in the poem below. This piece has 108 garnets hand strung along with an end piece of a faceted ruby bead with two small ones dangling below. This is a deeply symbolic piece meant to support you on your journey with time & change. The display piece has part of the poem handwritten in the rings of this cross section which also symbolize time in nature. A true work of art - wearable and sculptural it is 2.75 inches in diameter and can be doubled around the neck to look like 2 layers.
This piece was created with the poem by William Stafford - The Way it is - in mind
There's a thread you follow. It goes among things that change. People wonder about what you are pursuing. You have to explain about the thread. But it is hard for others to see. While you hold it you can't get lost. Tragedies happen; people get hurt or die; and you suffer and get old. Nothing you do can stop time's unfolding. You don't ever let go of the thread.
